Edible Edinburgh is thrilled to be kicking off 2019 by announcing its support for The Kindness Directory! Developed by Edinburgh-based chef Steve Brown, TKD is an exciting new online resource to connect social food organisations – such as food banks, cookery classes, community gardens and food growing initiatives – with the people who need it.
“The Kindness Directory is a website designed to make it easy for individuals, organisations and businesses to find food resources in their communities and beyond.
Whether you are looking for community growing projects, cookery classes or solutions for holiday hunger, The Kindness Directory is a user-friendly way of finding out exactly what’s going on. Visitors can search for something specific, or let the directory show them everything that’s on offer.
The Kindness Directory is also a valuable tool for GP surgeries, community centres, clinics and schools to suggest options for individuals where necessary.
As many of these projects are run on tight budgets, The Kindness Directory also provides a great opportunity for organisations to be found by members of the community, as well as making it easy to find each other.”
We’re really excited that Edinburgh is home to this new project – TKD is still in development so keep your eyes peeled for further updates!
