Edible Edinburgh going for Bronze!

Edinburgh is applying for Sustainable Food Cities: Bronze in 2019!

Each year the Sustainable Food Cities awards recognise the success of cities and regions taking a holistic approach to transforming the food in their area.

Edible Edinburgh believes that our city deserves recognition for the fantastic achievements and hard work of its community organisations, restaurants, shops, catering companies, public bodies and individuals who aim to make Edinburgh’s food as local, healthy, environmentally-friendly and tasty as it can, and so we are applying for Sustainable Food Cities: Bronze in April 2019!

It’s more than just a nice prize, though – the award would be also fantastic evidence to show to local residents, policymakers, businesses, tourists, and funders that Edinburgh is a nationally and internationally recognised city of good quality, sustainable, fair and local food that all of us can be proud of.

This is our goal for Edinburgh, but there’s a lot to do first – we need to make as strong a case as we can that our city deserves to be recognised as one of the UK’s top destinations for sustainable food.

Are you with us? If you or your organisation:

  • are based in Edinburgh
  • work with food in any capacity – including production, preparation, procurement, distribution and/or promotion
  • believe that the work you do contributes to Edinburgh’s sustainable, affordable, healthy and tasty food
  • are interested in featuring in Edinburgh’s 2019 SFC Bronze application

Then please get in touch with us at hello@edible-edinburgh.org and we’d love to chat to you!
